Shopping with Linus
Linus has been fairly good today. I took him out for his Big Y (a New England grocery store chain) birthday pizza slice and drink. He also got two cookies, one from the Little Y Club (a daycare center while you shop) and one from the bakery. I told him he couldn’t have the second one until after he finished his pizza, which he will finish for dinner. Linus has been enjoying his Friendly’s Valentine cones. The ice cream chain sold 5 coupons for kid’s cones for $1.00 that went to charity. We picked one up on the way home for his after nap treat.
There were some really great markdowns on coffee, tea, bread and cappuccino mix at Big Y that I took advantage of. The coffee actually has fiber in it. I was so excited to try it for the price I paid that a brewed a cup when I got home. Turns out, it was good. So Linus willingly went back to the store with me to buy the rest of the coffee before someone else discovered the steal. $1.24 for 10 oz of fiber coffee which was regularly $9.99. On my second trip is when I found out that the tea and cappuccino mixes also had an extra 50% off the marked price. The Land O’ Lakes cappuccino mixes were regularly $6.99 and I paid $0.87. The organic English breakfast tea was $3.49 and on sale for $0.44. Thanks to Linus, we will have many hot beverages for the rest of the winter.
I am really glad Linus cooperated with me today. Last week was difficult, and I really need a better week with my busy weekend coming up. I am so thankful to God for giving me such a sweet child on days like today. I hope his great attitude continues for the rest of the week.
