Homeschool Reading Programs
One of my friends mentioned a homeschool reading program through Six Flags, and as I was looking it up, I found another one as well. Six Flags Read to Succeed Reading Incentive starts registration in December for grades K-6 with a deadline in March. The students must complete 6 hours of recreational reading to earn a free ticket to the park. The teacher (or parent, in the case of the homeschool option) receives a free ticket as well if at least one of their students completes the program.
Pizza Hut also does a BOOK IT! program for homeschoolers. The packet is sent in September and your students can read in order to earn one-topping personal pan pizzas. The program runs October-March, so there are 6 coupons for each student, one per month. Once the student reaches their goal, the teacher may treat them for their pizza. My son’s only concern: “Can I get pepperoni?” Priceless.
