This past Thursday, the three of us went to Strollin’ On Main in Manchester, CT. We had some wine samples (Linus had juice), talked to the owners of local businesses, and rode on a horse-drawn carriage.
The rain kept some of the businesses who were suppose to be set up outside from coming, but the night turned out great. We even stopped in for dessert at Anne Miller Real Estate. She is always very friendly and kind.
We enjoyed the old fashioned night of “strollin’ downtown” and our carriage ride. This year was also the 100th anniversary of Homeland Day. Unfortunately, there wasn’t any free ice cream from Shady Glen or Royal Ice. Shady Glen is known for their “flying” cheeseburgers, but they also have unique ice cream flavors depending on the season. Recently, they made coconut and lemon cream ice cream flavors for the summer. Royal Ice is known for their Royal Wich: two chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream in the middle then dipped in a chocolate coating. It has even won a couple of awards.
Despite the disappointment of no ice cream, the rain held off most of the night with showers scattered at times. At least we didn’t get soaked.
